It provides investment management services to a socially responsible mutual fund and investment management services to institutional clients using a value-oriented approach.
Pekin manages the Mid Cap Value model using a bottom-up, fundamental research process. Of course, investments are chosen from a universe of securities passing Azzad’s ethical screens. Their portfolio is constructed from companies they believe are temporarily out of favor but have strong, long-term fundamentals. These are companies with free cash flow, a high competitive moat and high quality management. The firm employs a team approach to investing which brings together investment professionals who hold the CFA Charter. Pekin strives to generate market-beating returns by investing in quality, undervalued companies while protecting the portfolio on the downside. Their investment approach is centered on managing portfolio risk through a conservative, risk averse philosophy.
